On July 20, 2019, the Department of English organised an interactive session titled “Managing Stress in Student Life” for Students of TYBA. This session was organised on the eve of International Yoga Day, which is celebrated on June 21, and was part of the Department’s ongoing efforts to ensure the psychological well-being of Students while enhancing their academic performance.
The speaker for the session was Dr. Manisha Anwekar (Ph.D., Metaphysics, USA), Founder & CEO, Spiritual Konnect. She started by defining ‘stress’ and went on to differentiate between Good Stress – Eustress and Negative Stress – Distress. She further spoke about the causes of stress among Youth, symptoms, and strategies to deal with it.
Students had numerous queries, and at the end of the session they expressed how such a session, at the start of the academic year, would help them cope with their studies better.
