On September 2 and 3, 2016, the Silver Screen Film Society of the Department of BMM organized a two-day event involving a Workshop and the second Short-Film Festival. The Workshop was held on September 2, 2016, and was attended by over 100 amateur and enthusiastic film makers.
A group of film makers from S. J. Studio, Ms. Mriddhu Khosla, Mr. Yogesh K Sharma, and Mr. Jason Moss, guided participants in the art of making good films. They also spoke of the recent technologies available in this field.
The Workshop was graced by the presence of child actor Irfan Khan, from one of the Bollywood’s much-acclaimed films, Chillar Party.He interacted with the audience, shared some of his experiences, and also answered questions.
On September 3, 2016, the ‘Short Films Festival’ was attended by more than 200 participants. This year, the ‘short film-making competition’ of the Festival was open to students from colleges over Mumbai, professionals, film-making institutions and individuals. There were more than 50 entries submitted, of which the winner was the filmBhuj, by Irfan Khan and his team.
The competition was judged by eminent personalities such as Mr. Sanjay Jadhav, Mr. Suyash Tilak, Mr. Kabir Kapoor, Mr. Sanjay Chaturvedi, and Mr. Joe S Khera. They critically analysed the films and also provided tips on film-making.
