On January 14, 2017,SY students of Psychology, along with a few students from other Departments, visited Desire – an orphanage that serves orphan and abandoned children, some of whom are HIV-positive.
As it was Makar Sankrantiit was decided to spend some time with these children and spread cheer. Students and faculty members carried goody bags containing eatables, groceries and toiletries for the inmates. Games like ‘Fire-on-the-mountain’ and ‘Tug-of-war’ were played amidst laughter and frolic. Senior girl inmates were counselled regarding higher education.
It was truly a heart-warming experience and a small contribution of the Department towards Institutional Social Responsibility.
