Report on National Conference on Medicinal Botany 7th & 8th September 2007

National Conference on Medicinal Botany was held on 7th & 8th September 2007 by the Department of Botany. The convener of the conference was Principal Dr. U.C. Mashelkar, and the Organizing Secretary was Dr. Madhu K. Kapoor, Head Department of Botany. It was well attended by delegates from all over India. Around 140 delegates were registered for the Conference ( including both local and out station delegates). The Chief guest for the inaugural function was Dr. A.D.Sawant, the Pro-vice Chancellor of the University of Mumbai. The function was Presided over by Shri. Kishore Ranganekar the President of Chikitsak Samuha. On this occasion a souviner along with abstracts of the research papers was released. The inaugural function was attended by many important dignitaries which included Principal, ex-Principals of various Colleges, Chairperson, Board of Studies of Botany, distinguished Taxonomists, Ecologists etc. The inaugural function was followed by the key note address delivered by Dr. A.D.Sawant, the Pro-vice Chancellor of the university of Mumbai.
There were six Technical sessions including a Poster session.
