Department of English

General Information

The Department of English, Patkar-Varde College, was established in June 1964. The Department has a history of producing valuable individuals who have contributed to Institutional and social development.

The Department faculty members have taken efforts to gain the interest and enthusiasm of students by starting various activities. Students’ suggestions have always been taken into consideration. One instance of this is the Department Alumni Association, which was formed in 2014-15, after repeated demands from the Department alumni.

Research Scholars’ Meet

  • Of the 2 Students who participated in the Research Scholars’ Meet organised by Patkar-Varde College in 2021-22, Ms. Anubhuti Anwekar won the Ist Prize for her paper in the UG Students’ category.

National Level Online Book Review Competition

  • Two students won prizes at the National Level Online Book Review Competition, organised by Manjunath College of Commerce (October 2021). Those students are Khokar Ruhi - FYBA (First Prize) and Naik Mansi - FYBA (Second Prize)
