Department of Political Science

General Information

The Department of Political Science was established in 1964, and its foundation pillars were the then Prof. Raikar and Mrs. Shamsu. After its foundation in late 1989, then- Prof. N. D. Kumbhar excelled to bring the department forward through various teaching-learning methods in Political-Science and competitiveness among the students. He strived to develop the skills of students by organizing various co-curricular activities and field visits simultaneously. The department has also received administrative responsibilities during the tenure of Prof. Kumbhar as he was on the post of Vice-Principal. Presently, Dr. Amarnath Gopale and Mrs. Ashwini Salukhe are striving to take the department forward. Both faculties in the department have pursued their higher education from the well-known central universities: Dr. Amarnath from the Central University of Punjab, which ranked under the top 100 universities in India, and Mrs. Ashwini Salunkhe from the well-known Central University “IGNU.”
