The Department of Sanskrit was established in 1964. The Sanskrit Department arranges various student centric activities such as,Celebration of Kalidas Din, Sanskrit Din, Gurupaurnima, conducting lecture series in memory of Dr. Prabha Joshi are the regular practices followed by the department. A Skilled based credit course of Sanskrit speaking;basics of Sanskrit Language was arrangedfrom 11th September-28th October 2023 and 41 students participated in it. The Bridge course in Sanskrit Grammar for the students of Sanskrit was arranged by the department from 25th October to 23rd November 2023. Alumni of the Sanskrit department are working in various renowned institutions as teachers, researchers and subject experts.
