Department of Biotechnology

The Department of Biotechnology was established in 2007 at Patkar Varde College and stands as a beacon of excellence in the realm of Biotechnology education. Department offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and expertise necessary to succeed in this dynamic and ever-evolving field. The UG program in Biotechnology provides a strong foundation in the fundamental principles of molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, and microbiology. Students gain hands-on experience through a well-structured laboratory curriculum, preparing them for further studies or entry into the biotech industry. The PG program in Biotechnology, started in the year 2014, delves deeper into the intricacies of biotechnology, offering specialized courses in areas such as genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, nanotechnology, Clinical research, Food technology and Developmental Biology. Students conduct research under the guidance of experienced industry experts, gaining exposure to cutting-edge research methodologies and contributing to the advancement of biotechnology.

With an intake capacity of 60 students for UG and 30 students for PG programs, the Department of Biotechnology ensures that each student receives personalized attention and guidance. Our vision is to create a generation of biotechnologists who are intellectually curious, ethically responsible, and committed to making a positive impact on society.
