Department of Multimedia and Mass Communication (BAMMC)

General Information

The Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia and Mass Communication (BAMMC) program was introduced at Patkar Varde College in 2006-2007 with the aim of offering students a solid foundation for developing good communication skills. The program provides students with a perfect blend of theoretical knowledge and practical applications. It includes comprehensive research, logical writing skills, verbal presentation skills, and a thorough understanding of various mass media in the information age. In the academic year 2009-10, the intake capacity was increased to 120 students.

The program is divided into six semesters spanning three years, with a total of 120 credits. It is taught by a diverse faculty comprising academics and practitioners to broaden learners' horizons and expose them to a variety of perspectives. In the third year, students choose either Journalism or Advertising as their major and specialize in their chosen area. The number of courses, examination patterns, and minimum qualification requirements are in accordance with University and College guidelines.
