Department of Accounting and Finance (BAF)

The Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) program in Accounting and Finance is a dynamic and comprehensive undergraduate degree designed to prepare students for successful careers in the fields of accounting, finance, and business. This program combines a strong academic foundation with practical skills development to meet the evolving demands of the global business environment.

The department was established in the academic year 2005-06. It has an intake capacity of 180 students. The program spans for 3 years. The curriculum is carefully crafted to provide students with a well-rounded understanding of accounting principles, financial management, taxation, auditing, and business law. Courses are designed to enhance critical thinking, analytical skills, and ethical decision-making. The program places a strong emphasis on practical application through the integration of real-world case studies, simulations, and the use of financial software. Students gain hands-on experience to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

The program covers fundamental accounting principles and practices, ensuring students develop a deep understanding of financial reporting, analysis, and regulatory compliance. Students acquire skills in financial planning, risk management, investment analysis, and corporate finance, preparing them to make strategic financial decisions. The curriculum is aligned with professional certifications such as CA (Chartered Accountant and CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), providing students with a competitive edge in the job market. Students have access to the latest financial software and technology, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios and stay current with industry trends.
