Department of Computer Science
Introduction of the department:
The Department of Computer Science was established in the year 2000. Since its inception, the Department has grown in strength and initiated M.Sc. Computer Science as well. An intake capacity for Undergraduate Course is 60 and Post Graduation Course is 40. The Department has skilled and committed faculty and excellent infrastructural facilities. In addition to the regular academics, guest lectures are held by industry experts and professionals. The department has Next-Gen Laboratory to facilitate an internship to the students in collaboration with an industry. The department is also engaged with various activities such as peer to peer learning programme, senior citizen literacy programme, student - faculty exchange programme , industry academic collaborations and field visits. The Department has successfully found placements in companies for meritorious students in the industry.

Department Achievements
- Erasmus+ Project “Cybersecurity for All (CS4ALL) Patkar - Varde College is working on an International project Erasmus+ Project Cybersecurity for All (CS4ALL). Erasmus+ Project and Cybersecurity for All (CS4ALL) is an initiative aimed at promoting cybersecurity education and awareness across Europe and other countries. An objective of this project is to enhance competencies, skills, and employability potential of students, specifically in cybersecurity in Indonesia, India, and Nepal by updating curricula. The survey conducted under this project will guide the development of a modular cybersecurity program. The project will give academic staff, students, and other people the content on cybersecurity to increase awareness in the fields, impart knowledge of basic cybersecurity principles, and create mindsets and attitudes for safe online presence.
- Organised International series of Webinar “RUSA Sponsored Research in IT-Decoding Robotic Technologies” was conducted by Dr. Bhavin Shah, Head of Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (EXTC), Atharva College of Engineering, Mumbai on 26th August 2023.
- Organised International series of Webinar on “RUSA Sponsored Research in IT-A Decoding Robotic Technologies” was conducted by Ms. Tolani Jaiye-Tikolo RPA Technical Lead at Allied Irish Bank (AIB), Ireland on 26th August 2023.
- An International Webinar titled “Research in IT: Decoding Robotic Technologies”was organized on 26th August, 2023. The webinar was attended by 297 participants which included academicians, Industrial professionals and Undergraduate & Postgraduate Students. The objective of the webinar was to understand the aspect of Decoding Robotics and Intelligent Automation”. Seminar Details are:
- Speaker 1: Dr. Bhavin Shah,Head of Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (EXTC), Atharva College of Engineering, Mumbai, delivered a session on “Robotics And Automation to Boost Industry/Manufacturing Sector”.
